The historic Gonzales County Courthouse was built in 1895 and is in amazing shape. Its architect is J. Riely Gordon who designed Victoria County, Lee County, Comal County, Erath County, and many many other historic Texas buildings.

The clock keeps accurate time.

Great detail on the iron staircase. The staircase is in the middle of the courthouse providing access to all levels.

The court was not in session.

On the courthouse square is the historic jailhouse as well. It still looks similar to this, except with a flat roof. This photo was inside the jail showing it once had a mansard roof.
