Directly west of San Angelo, TX and Tom Green County is Concho County, and the town of Paint Rock. Paint Rock is named for historic Native American paintings on the rock-lined banks of the Concho River, just outside town.

The year 1886 is visible on the top center pediment.

This is the back of the courthouse. There’s not even a sidewalk to the door!

 

There’s not much activity in Paint Rock. This abandoned building is on the town square.
